I’m on an interior design kick again now that I’ll be moving somewhere new at the end of May. I’m just a sucker for nautical. This is the current palette I’m thinking of.

(Sigh) Nothing is Original Anymore
I have been happily planning out my bedroom for the fall and I know it will include a soft llama thing and a big piece of faux taxidermy in the form of a foamcore deer head. I have been mixing color palettes and am liking the idea of doing something nautical with tan, brown, navy, white, and a splash of red. You know, anchor and mermaid wall decals and things like that.
But then I thought: how in the world could I make the faux deer and the llama work with the nautical stuff? I guess I could just give the llama a little life-ring and captains hat. Captain Llama! And I could give the deer a little anchor ascot or something.
And I thought… well that would be original.
I’m sure no one has mixed nautical and taxidermy and llamas.
OF COURSE I WAS WRONG.

Elizabeth McGrath and I apparently have similar style.
She’s just a little more goth-y.

Sigh.

Ladies, it’s all over. I don’t care if I win the chandelier contest, this is going to look chic as hell. I just have to figure out how to safely hang these from the ceiling without defying housing regulations. Empty terrariums from a site I read about in Real Simple. Happy birthday to me from myself next month!
I shall then execute my evil plan.
